5/5...This may not be THE best, but certainly is ONE of the best! An instant classic, and must be owned by all fans of odd Black Metal, or odd Metal in general! Very highly recommended...

...The songs on this album are longer and more atmospheric than Sigh's previous effort, the classic Scorn Defeat. Five out of the album's six songs reach over eight minute mark, and every moment within the album demands attention...read the review here

...In the case of Japan's Sigh, Black Metal was mixed with doom, ambient, prog along with Japanese classical and folk music. Quite unlike anything else i've ever heard...

7,5/10...Hail Horror Hail_ is a very visual listening experience, a seriously odd, often chaotic collision of weird metal with just about everything else on the musical map...
read the review here...The theatre is black. The tension is high. Sigh's title song suddenly blares through the speakers in all it's retro-metal glory. Real Metal. The driving force behind it is a penchant for writing a killer thrash tune, with Mirai's over-excited vocal screeches introducing one of the greatest metal albums of all time...

8,5/10..."Imaginary Sonicscape" goes through a fair few styles and at first they really seem out-of-place and just delved into for the sake of it, but it has to be understood that Mirai and co know few boundaries and once you get familiar with a few songs, the whole album becomes much easy to digest and it slowly dawns that this is music that won't be restrained. Classy, haunting, melancholy, jazzy, funky and just downright great songwriting, this is music for the open mind, but good music regardless... read the review here

...Really, this is an album I would recommend to anyone who like hearing bands push the envelope a little in terms of mixing genres and producing an interesting result. If in a few places it doesn't quite succeed, it's more than compensated for by some moments of absolute genius. One of the best albums I've heard in ages, and highly recommended...

..."Gallows Gallery" sounds like a crazed circus, full of crazy little folk running around with knives. There are thrashing riffs and lots of double bass, but there is also a huge amount of organ, psychedelia and atmospherics. Some songs have saxophone, some have bells. Some have spoken-word and some have sitar or glockenspiel or techno beats... read the review here

...The new album has mixed feeling all over, the first thing you notice is that the Black Metal shrieks are gone and clean vocals (layered and run through vocoders) take the lead on this album.
Much has been talked about the production, about how it's inappropriate and how it was designed to piss the Mp3 sharers on the net...

8.2/10As much as I may have painted 'GG' production in an unfavourable light, it's not horrendous by any means. It's just far and away from the sonic heights we expect from this band. The lifeless drumming mix probably suffers the most, but overall, the more you listen to 'GG' the more it grows on you. I like this a lot. Still, the problem remains - is this the final mix? It's hard to believe that the band was totally happy with it...
